Hike Description

About a 40-minute drive from the pick-up point, we reach the parking area. The concluding part of the drive guides us through a captivating landscape, enticing us to capture its beauty in a few photographs. Once at the hike's starting point, we conduct an equipment check, making any necessary adjustments. Following this, a brief safety briefing is provided, covering trail information, expected conditions, and useful hiking tips before embarking on today's exciting adventure!

Our initial half-hour trek leads us along a construction road, culminating at the serene Trodlabergtjørn. Diverging from the road, we immerse ourselves in the terrain, tracing a trail towards the enchanting Storatjørn. Winding along the mountain's edge, we navigate rocky segments within the wooded terrain before reaching the ascent of the mountain.

The climb, at times steep and stony, becomes a delightful ascent when approached with a leisurely pace, leading us to a tranquil lake. Here, we seize the opportunity for a brief respite, accompanied by refreshments. Adventurous souls may indulge in a rejuvenating dip in the crystal-clear Norwegian mountain water.

Post-break, our journey persists towards the summit marked by a distinctive cairn, unveiling breathtaking panoramic vistas. At this pinnacle, we relish another well-deserved rest, savoring the views, capturing our presence in the moment, and preserving the beauty through photographs.

The descent guides us along the path to Rasmustjørna, unfolding an expansive and gentle landscape framed by rocky knolls. The panoramic spectacle encompasses the entrance to Lysefjorden and scenic views of Forsand across Høgsfjorden. Traversing the south side of Rasmustjørna, we navigate through wooded and steep slopes into the valley. Along the way, we encounter another inviting water body, offering the possibility of a refreshing swim. We pass by small tarns and moss-covered stone screes, ultimately rejoining the construction road.

In conclusion, we wrap up our adventure by retracing our path through the tranquil surroundings along the road, marking the end of a hike that will be remembered.

PS! This is a relatively long and challenging trip.  On weekdays, we must maintain a steady pace to adhere to the schedule.  We, therefore, recommend not booking this hike if you are unsure whether you comfortably fit within Level 3+. On the weekend day version of the hike, there is more time available, allowing for a more relaxed pace.

Weekday Hike

We'll carve out ample moments for making a campfire, make some food, and the pursuit of additional activities like fishing and swimming, should the interest and opportunities present themselves. So, lace up your hiking boots, embrace the unhurried rhythm, and let's make the most of this weekend adventure!
