REAL DAYS ON THE FJORD
Real guests. Real experiences. A taste of what your private fishing day can look like.
A fishing day built around the best opportunities
Depending on the conditions, we may fish sheltered coastal waters around Stavanger, explore deeper areas in the fjords, or head farther offshore for deep-water fishing. Different areas, depths and techniques give us opportunities for a variety of species throughout the season.
I choose the route, fishing grounds and techniques based on the conditions on the day. There is no fixed programme to follow. If the fish are not where expected, we can move, change depth or try a different approach. That flexibility is one of the advantages of a private fishing tour.
Whether you are an experienced angler or fishing in Norway for the first time, I adapt the trip to your group. Fishing equipment and flotation gear are provided, and I am there throughout the day to help with techniques, tackle and the local fishing grounds.
Arriving in Stavanger by cruise ship?
I plan the fishing trip around your ship's schedule. Pickup is close to the cruise ship, and I allow comfortable time for the return before departure.

The Axopar 28 Cabin
The boat gives us a stable, comfortable and flexible base for a day of fishing. The heated cabin provides shelter from wind and spray, while the open deck gives us plenty of room to fish and move around safely.
Advanced fishing sonar helps us read depth, structure and fish activity in real time, while precise GPS positioning allows me to hold the boat over promising areas when conditions allow.

GOOGLE REVIEW
No two fishing days are the same.
Beyond our most common catches, fishing around Stavanger can bring a surprisingly wide variety of species, depending on the season, depth and conditions. That variety is one of the things I enjoy most about private fishing trips in Stavanger. We adapt where and how we fish throughout the day, from rocky coastal areas and underwater structure to deeper water when conditions allow. There are never guarantees in fishing — but every trip gives us the chance to discover what is active that day.

Ling
A powerful deep-water species we may target when conditions allow us to fish deeper areas.

Spiny dogfish
A small shark species that occasionally gives guests a very different fishing experience.

Cuckoo Wrasse
One of the most colorful fish we encounter and often a favorite with guests.

Cod
A familiar Norwegian species found in several of the areas we fish.

Pollack
OUR MAIN TARGET SPECIES
Known for powerful runs and hard fights, pollack is a favourite on our fishing trips — often found around rocky structure and deeper reefs.

Frequently asked questions
Still wondering about something? Here are a few of the questions guests often ask before booking.
Yes. Every fishing tour is completely private for you and your group. I adapt the day to your experience, interests and the conditions on the fjord, so you can fish and explore at your own pace.
The species vary with the season, location and conditions. Typical catches around Stavanger include pollack, cod, saithe, mackerel and several other coastal species. Part of the experience is seeing what the fjord gives us that day.
There is no strict hourly schedule. I adapt the day to the conditions, the fishing and your group, with trips lasting up to around 7 hours. The price is fixed for your group and is the same whether you prefer a shorter trip or spend most of the day on the water. If we stay out a little longer than planned, there is no extra hourly charge.
The aim is simply to give you the best possible day on the water — without watching the clock.
Yes. Families are very welcome. I adapt the fishing, pace and time on the water to the group. For younger children, I will ask for their age and weight in advance so I can prepare suitable safety equipment.
I normally meet guests close to central Stavanger and the cruise harbour, which is convenient for cruise guests and visitors staying in central hotels.
If you have a car, you can also meet directly at the boat, where parking is easy and it gives us a little more flexibility with the day. Other pickup arrangements may also be possible depending on the trip.
I monitor the weather and sea conditions closely before every trip. If necessary, I can adjust the route, fishing area or timing. If conditions are not suitable for a safe and comfortable trip, I will contact you before departure to discuss the options.
If the trip cannot go ahead because of the weather, there is no charge.
Fish may be kept when appropriate and in accordance with Norwegian fishing regulations, while some fish are released carefully. I will guide you during the trip and make sure the catch is handled responsibly.
Yes. There is a small toilet on board for occasional or emergency use. It is compact, but useful to have during longer trips.
If you would like to learn more about local fish species, seasons, fishing conditions and what to expect on the water, I have created a detailed guide to fishing in the Stavanger area.
