LEARN BY DOING
Learn. Prepare. Fish. Continue.
A practical private course designed to give you the confidence and basic skills to fish from shore on your own afterwards.
From theory to fishing on the coast
We normally begin indoors at my base, around 30 minutes from central Stavanger. Sitting around a table with a screen available, we go through the practical foundations of shore fishing in Norway — equipment, lures and rigs, knots, depth, underwater structure, weather, conditions and how to recognise a promising fishing spot.
Then we take what we have discussed outside and put it into practice. At a suitable shore fishing location, you learn how to cast, work different lures and depths, adapt your technique and read the water while actually fishing.
The course is adapted to your previous experience. You do not need to know anything about fishing beforehand, but if you already fish, we can spend more time on the areas where you want to improve.
The course normally starts at my base, approximately 30 minutes from central Stavanger.
Unless we agree otherwise, we meet there. The exact meeting details are provided before the course.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR & COURSE
One instructor. One private course. Skills you can use afterwards.
From the first message to the final cast, I personally plan and teach the course — combining local fishing knowledge, practical theory and hands-on fishing from shore.
Your local instructor
I’m Espen, the instructor behind Stavanger Adventure. I personally plan and teach every course, so the person you speak with before the course is also the person teaching you throughout the course.
I have lifelong experience fishing these waters, and my approach is calm, practical and personal. The course is adapted to your experience, what you want to learn and how you plan to use the knowledge afterwards.
Direct communication
Plan the course directly with the person who teaches it. Quick answers and practical advice before you arrive.
Local knowledge
Years of experience fishing around Stavanger, with practical knowledge of local fishing areas, conditions and seasonal changes.

Learn it. Then put it into practice.
The course combines a short indoor theory session with practical shore fishing. We go through equipment, lures, rigs, knots, depth, structure, weather and how to recognise promising fishing areas before heading outside to put it into practice.
At the coast, the focus shifts to hands-on learning. You practise casting, fishing different depths and working lures effectively, while I help you adapt the technique to the conditions and the fishing spot.
Understand before you fish
Learn why certain equipment, techniques and fishing areas work — not simply what to use.
Hands-on guidance
Practise everything yourself with personal help and feedback throughout the course.
