A DAY THAT GOES BEYOND FISHING
Catch. Explore. Eat. Enjoy.
A private day combining fishing with the dramatic scenery, waterfalls and landmarks of Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen).
REAL DAYS ON THE FJORD
Fishing, fjord scenery and real moments from private fishing and days in Lysefjord.
Fishing and Lysefjord — combined into one private day
The route takes us into Lysefjord, where dramatic mountain walls, waterfalls and Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) become part of the fishing day rather than a separate sightseeing tour.
Depending on the conditions, I choose where and when we fish along the route. Some areas are better suited to fishing than others, and if the fish are not active we can move, change depth or try a different technique. The aim is to make the most of both the fishing and the fjord.
There is plenty of time to slow down along the way. We can stop beneath Pulpit Rock, get close to Hengjanefossen, find a quiet place for lunch and simply enjoy being surrounded by Lysefjord.
Fishing equipment and flotation gear are provided, and I personally guide the entire day. Whether you are an experienced angler or fishing in Norway for the first time, I adapt the fishing, pace and level of instruction to your group.
Arriving in Stavanger by cruise ship?
I plan the fishing trip around your ship's schedule. Pickup is close to the cruise ship, and I allow comfortable time for the return before departure.

GOOGLE REVIEW
No two fishing days are the same.
During this full-day Lysefjord fishing trip, I choose the fishing areas and techniques according to the conditions and what is active on the day. We may fish rocky structure, sheltered fjord areas or deeper water along the route.
Species and catches can never be guaranteed, but that is part of real fishing. The combination of different depths, habitats and changing conditions gives us the opportunity to encounter a surprisingly wide variety of fish.

Ling
A powerful deep-water species we may target when conditions allow us to fish deeper areas.

Spiny dogfish
A small shark species that occasionally gives guests a very different fishing experience.

Cuckoo Wrasse
One of the most colorful fish we encounter and often a favorite with guests.

Cod
A familiar Norwegian species found in several of the areas we fish.

Pollack
OUR MAIN TARGET SPECIES
Known for powerful runs and hard fights, pollack is a favourite on our fishing trips — often found around rocky structure and deeper reefs.

WHAT YOU MAY CATCH
A surprising variety beneath the surface
The waters around Stavanger and Lysefjord offer a varied mix of species. What we encounter depends on the season, depth, conditions and where we fish along the route.

The route goes into Lysefjord past Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) and as far as Hengjanefossen. The tour does not continue to Flørli or Lysebotn.
Fishing is an important part of the day, but there is no rigid timetable. I adapt the fishing to the conditions, fish activity and how your group would like to experience the day.
The species vary with the season, location and conditions. Typical catches around Stavanger include pollack, cod, saithe, mackerel and several other coastal species. Part of the experience is seeing what the fjord gives us that day.
Yes. Pickup is close to the cruise harbour in central Stavanger, and I plan the day around your ship's schedule with comfortable time for the return before departure.
There is no strict hourly schedule. I adapt the day to the conditions, the fishing and your group, with trips lasting up to around 7 hours. The price is fixed for your group and is the same whether you prefer a shorter trip or spend most of the day on the water. If we stay out a little longer than planned, there is no extra hourly charge.
The aim is simply to give you the best possible day on the water — without watching the clock.
Yes. Families are very welcome. I adapt the fishing, pace and time on the water to the group. For younger children, I will ask for their age and weight in advance so I can prepare suitable safety equipment.
I normally meet guests close to central Stavanger and the cruise harbour, which is convenient for cruise guests and visitors staying in central hotels.
If you have a car, you can also meet directly at the boat, where parking is easy and it gives us a little more flexibility with the day. Other pickup arrangements may also be possible depending on the trip.
I monitor the weather and sea conditions closely before every trip. If necessary, I can adjust the route, fishing area or timing. If conditions are not suitable for a safe and comfortable trip, I will contact you before departure to discuss the options.
If the trip cannot go ahead because of the weather, there is no charge.
Fish may be kept when appropriate and in accordance with Norwegian fishing regulations, while some fish are released carefully. I will guide you during the trip and make sure the catch is handled responsibly.
Yes. There is a small toilet on board for occasional or emergency use. It is compact, but useful to have during longer trips.
